37 Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had ·appointed [made king] Zedekiah son of Josiah to be king of Judah [^Cin 597 bc; he ruled until 586 bc]. Zedekiah took the place of ·Jehoiachin [^LConiah] son of Jehoiakim. ² But Zedekiah, his servants, and the people of Judah did not listen to the words the Lord had spoken through Jeremiah the prophet.
